Into The Floyd

An Interstellar Journey Into the Music of Pink Floyd

Into The Floyd brings alive the music of Pink Floyd by performing an authentic and diverse catalogue of the band’s music all the way from their earliest material from the 1960s through to their final work.

Based in New England (Central Massachusetts) and featuring a primary lineup of five multi-instrumentalists, Into The Floyd — formerly known as Gilmour's Breakfast — emulates the experience of a live Pink Floyd concert with fully immersive lighting and visuals that weave through the sonic tapestry of the Floyd soundscape.

While being able to perform note-perfect renditions of the band’s studio recordings, Into The Floyd also takes pride in re-creating classic live versions of the band’s tracks and will often create compelling hybrid editions of their own. Diehard fans will be happy to hear deep tracks, and casual listeners will know the FM hits.

Band members include Martin Stewart (lead guitar, vocals), Matt Swanton (vocals, saxophone, guitar, keyboards), Doug Alexander (keyboards), Max Christian (bass guitar), and Mark Kaefer (drums).

We don't just aim to please every fan in the audience — but instead to lure them into a suspension of disbelief where they are experiencing a true Pink Floyd concert.

Martin Stewart

Lead Guitar, Vocals

A native of Irvine on Scotland's west coast, Martin moved to the USA in October 2001. Self taught from age 16, Martin started playing in local bands around the area culminating in playing the Kelvingrove Festival in 85’ in Glasgow Scotland (featuring in national and local radio  live broadcasts). He was fortunate enough to have shared the stage with Bon Jovi and Shirley Lewis. After arriving in the USA, Martin was in several bands and then found his way to being the lead guitar player for Into The Floyd, which was a natural progression for him given started listening to Pink Floyd at around 11 years of age. Matt Swanton

Vocals, Saxophone, Guitar, Keyboards

Born and raised in North Smithfield, Rhode Island, Matt picked up his first instrument at around age five and has been adding more to the list ever since. He’s primarily a saxophone player, though you might think it was guitar. Matt's influences include David Gilmour, Jim Morrison, Warren Haynes, Jimmy Page, Molly Hatchet, ELP, and Rush. He is also a co-founding member of the original band Route .44. (Photo: Matt Beauchemin Photography)

Doug Alexander

Keyboards

Doug’s early influences began with the Beatles, then broadened into ELP, Yes, and the other progressive rock icons of the 70s. Eventually his greatest musical fascination became psychedelic music, a genre in which Pink Floyd still remains a timeless and towering force. Upon joining Into The Floyd in 2017, Doug has poured his soul into building a keyboard rig which provides the complete sonic landscape required for the “full Floyd experience” of the band's shows. His former projects include 70s tribute band Zachary Smythe, Beatles tribute band AfterFab, and the original rock band The Forons. Doug studied music theory at the University of North Carolina and composing, arranging, scoring, electronic music, and recording studio production at Berklee College of Music. Max Christian

Bass Guitar

Max brings deep love of groove to Into The Floyd. A multi-instrumentalist with 40 years of experience, he has spent over three decades performing in original bands and tribute projects. Max's background spans rock, funk, progressive, and hip-hop, giving him a versatile sonic palette and a deep technical mastery of the bass's foundational role. As a lifelong Pink Floyd fan, Max is driven by the band’s conceptual depth and immersive atmosphere, and he was deeply influenced by their conceptual approach to songwriting. Outside of the Into The Floyd, Max writes, records, and produces original music and explores new creative ideas.

Mark Kaefer

DRUMS

Mark’s musical journey began at age nine, fueling a versatile career that spans the rock, jazz, fusion, funk, and classical genres. He's played everywhere from the Boston rock club circuit to big-name stages like the House of Blues and Symphony Hall. Before joining Into The Floyd, Mark held the drum throne for the New England-based Led Zeppelin tribute, Angels of Avalon. A lifelong fan of progressive rock music, he grew up with Pink Floyd playing constantly on his stereo. For Mark, performing this catalog is more than a gig. It's a high honor.
